The Coton de Tulear…
Are known as the Royal Dog of Madagascar and had a postage stamp to honor their place in Madagascar’s history in 1974.
Throughout history there are hundreds of amazing stories that date back to the days of Aristotle about these little fluffy dogs; some legend, some folklore, and some proven true.
The Madagascar culture includes many tales of their cunning ability to outsmart large and dangerous predators.
They are believed to be close cousins of Bichon family.
Today these bundles of cuteness are known for their high energy, coat of cotton like hair, and clever personalities.
They were accepted by the American Kennel Club as a breed in 2014.
The Coton’s have a life span of up to 20 years.
The Maltese…
Is an ancient breed; at least 2000 years of existence, and are believed to have originated in Malta.
During the Roman Empire Era, owning a Maltese was a “must have,” and part of the aristocrats rise to fame.
Throughout history these cute little pups appear in the artwork from various countries around the world and are known worldwide for their intense loyalty and patience.
This cute and elegant canine species are also good hunters and were known to travel on merchant ships to control the rat population.
In 1798 Napoleon, after conquering Malta, ordered the selection of the finest Maltese in the country, which was given to his wife Josephine as a symbol of his devotion.
Their calm and kind personality has earned them the reputation of being one of the most sought-after lap dogs throughout modern history.
The Cotonese… a cross breed between the Coton de Tulear and Maltese.
This designer breed retains the beautiful non shedding coat, high intelligence, and intense loyalty, associated with both breeds, while producing strong healthy pups. The two breeds are believed to be ancient cousins but with entirely different survival history. The Cotons have had periods in time where they were considered extremely rare and near extinction. According to most recorded history the Cotons were domesticated sometime in the 18th century. It is their small but robust physic and mighty spirit that aided their survival. We believe that this cross breed produces an amazing pet companion that is genetically healthy with the best traits of both breeds.
